Dear Parents, Guardians, and students

Being associated with this esteemed Department as Coordinator I feel great pleasure to speak a few words about Self Financing Department. This Department strives relentlessly to uphold the quality culture and to improve the learning atmosphere by involving all the stakeholders. Our basic purpose is to promote the all-round progress of our students with a thurst on knowledge and skills to promote their growth and foster human and social responsibilities. Empowerment of each student at all levels by meeting the intellectual and emotional needs of the citizen is what we strive for.

Our Department has the best facilities that offer wide-range opportunities for an outstanding teaching-learning environment. Learning is the process of constantly updating in an ever-changing world. Learning at Self Financing Department is based on the fundamental principles of the subject matter, teaching the students to be confident, disciplined, responsible and communicative. Education at our department provides a foundation for a lifetime of learning and a great fun too.

I also take this opportunity to thank the parents of our students for having bestowed their faith and confidence in us. Your faith in us is our driving force.

An Introduction to Self-Financing Department
Self-financing department, since its inception in the year 2013 has been an integral part of Narasingha Chowdhury Autonomous College, Jajpur imparting technical, management and social science Education to cater the needs of the students from various socio-economic backgrounds not only in the district of Jajpur but also from the adjoining districts.

The Department has been trying its level best to cater the best technical education through its BCA (Bachelor in Computer Application) in UG and MSc Computer Science in PG platform and simultaneously the best quality Management Education through BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) program.

As the Society right now requires the service of outstanding social scientists cum social counsellors, Self-Financing Department provides the best platform in social science through its MSW (Master of Social Work) stream.

As the Department grows older day by day it tries to provide the maximum job opportunities through its Campus Drive programs in every stream by developing the employability skills of its students through weekly seminars, summer placement coaching and developing their communication skills.

As an integral part of Narasingha Chowdhury Autonomous College, Jajpur students of this Department have the accessibility to all the basic facilities like Hostel (Both for Boys and Girls), Library Facilities etc.

From the initial days our students are not only doing exceptionally well in different cultural and sports activities but also bagging trophies bringing glory for the department as well as the College.

ABOUT COLLEGE:
The College is named after Late Choudhary Narasingha Charan Mohapatra of Kodandapur, the Principal donor of the Institution. Founded on June 18, 1945, the College fulfilled a long-cherished desire of the people of the historical town of Jajpur. The college provides Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce & Post-graduates courses in History and Mathematics. The college has sound infrastructure as regards to classrooms, library, computer laboratory, auditorium, separate hostels and gym for boys & girls and playground. The College has been accorded autonomous status from the from the session 1999-2000 and reaccredited by the NAAC in 2011. UGC has selected N.C. Autonomous College under the scheme “College with Potential for Excellence” during the 11th Plan Period vide Letter No. F-12-1/2008. The Government of Odisha accorded permission to run self-financing courses in Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA), Master in Social Works (MSW), and Master in Science (MSc) in Computer Science in order to cater jobs to the students.

ABOUT DEPARTMENT:
• Keeping in view the demand of career oriented self-financing courses in Jajpur, BBA,BCA,MSW, and MSc in Computer Science have been introduced with following objectives.
• Quality teaching through highly experienced faculties of this college as well as from other institutions and Universities.
• Seminar & Group discussion shall be an integral part.
• High-tech computer lab facilities for students.
• Soft skill development programme like facing interview, communication skill and public speaking skill shall be taught by experts.
